To subscribe to LM_NET, just do this:
1. Send an e-mail message
to: LISTSERV@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU
2. In the first line of the message, type:
SUBSCRIBE LM_NET Firstname Lastname
(Of course, you would substitute your actual name in the line, such as "SUBSCRIBE LM_NET Libby Rarian" No quotes necessary
The LM_NET listserv computer will respond with an informative
message, which will ask for a confirmation. You will then be
added if you properly follow the directions.
If you ever set yourself to nomail or
mail has stopped arriving from LM_NET, and you are wondering if you
are still subscribed, you can check your status by doing this:
1. Send a message to: LISTSERV@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU
2. on the first line of your message type: q lm_net
(Do not include your ID or signature
file in the message.)
A few minutes later you should receive a message from LM_NET listserver. It will either tell you you are not subscribed, or it will give you a status report, such as the one I obtained by this process a few minutes ago.
