Subscribing to LM_NET

Last updated: April 24, 2001

To subscribe to LM_NET, just do this:

   1.  Send an e-mail message

    to:  LISTSERV@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU

   2.  In the first line of the message, type:

       SUBSCRIBE LM_NET Firstname Lastname

(Of course, you would substitute your actual name in the line, such as "SUBSCRIBE LM_NET Libby Rarian"    No quotes necessary

The LM_NET listserv computer will respond with an informative message,  which will ask for a confirmation.  You will then be added if  you properly follow the directions.

If you ever set yourself to nomail or mail has stopped arriving from  LM_NET, and you are wondering if you are still subscribed, you can check  your status by doing this:
    1. Send a message to: LISTSERV@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU
    2. on the first line of your message type: q lm_net
(Do not include your ID or signature file in the message.)

A few minutes later you should receive a message from LM_NET listserver.  It will either tell you you are not subscribed, or it will give you a status report, such as the one I obtained by this process a few minutes ago.
