Thanks to all who responded. Here are the responses to the websites I requested for
the platforms of the major political parties. Some are more age appropriate for
middle school students than others.

Here's the Constitution Party platform.
http://constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php
The main site is
http://constitutionparty.com

These are available on the parties' websites:  http://www.gp.org/platform.shtml ,
http://www.gop.com/images/2004platform.pdf (2004, they are working on the 2008
platform), http://www.lp.org/platform , http://www.democrats.org/a/party/stand.html
.  Hopefully this is what she is looking for.

 try http://www.govspot.com/categories/politicalparties.htm

Platforms are what they are. But the listed sites might have summaries that
will serve.

You can also Google    political party platform for many more links.
Or try adding specific party name to those words, or use phrases like
Republican platform
Democratic platform
Green Party platform
And so on.
Google knows what you are looking for.

Is this what you are looking for?

 Try www.votesmart.org.
I found voting records, public statements, biographical and lots of other
information.

Try issues2000.org - we use it all the time for this kind of thing.
