Hello all,
A teacher of middle school students has asked me for the below. As I am new to my
K-3 library, I was hoping for some suggestions. I've got a few ideas:
Carson's I Like Me, Henke's Chrysanthemum, King Midas any others? Thank you in
advance!
I'm looking for children's books (around ages 6-10) that deal with the following
topics (3 different books):
-greed; or desiring something too much
-seeking approval; what's on the inside is what counts
-pride; boasting
*****************
I love The Quiltmaker's Gift by Jeff Brumbeau. A king is greedy and wants
everything. He learns that he must give in order to receive.

You might try Me First by Helen Lester for the boasting/greed request. The Grouchy
Ladybug by Eric Carle is another good story dealing with greed.

Try : Matthew A.B.C by Peter Catalanotto (atheneum 2002)
