[LM_NET] TAR: laptops w/scanners

Hi 'Netters, 

 

Our tech people want to replace our desktop circ stations with laptops
and hand scanners to make inventory easier (great!).  They want to spend
$150 or less on each of the scanners (hmmm..).  We run Athena in two
buildings and Alexandria/Alice in another.

 

Does anybody have a similar set up or have insight on whether an
inexpensive hand scanner will run the software correctly?  The last time
we checked (last year), compatible scanners were much more expensive.
