Teacher-librarian in Canada is pretty similar to Australia. To be a
teacher-librarian you must first have a Bachelor's degree of some
sort, PDP (professional development program) or teacher training, and
either a 15 unit diploma in teacher-librarianship or an M.Ed. in
teacher-librarianship or an MLIS. Now, that is not to say every
school has a fully qualified teacher-librarian. Elementary schools
particularly suffer from having libraries under or unstaffed.
