Dear Friends,
I received many responses to my questions about appropriate vampire books for
high school.
Most were in favor of the two series I asked about: Vampire Academy by Richelle
Mead and House of Night by P.C. Cast. There were some big cautions about the sex
(and language) in the Cast books. I few librarians would NOT include them in their
HS collection, most would.
Others recommended Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber, Blue Bloods by Melissa de la
Cruz, Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine, books by Katie Maxwell and City of
Ashes and City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.
I guess the best thing to do is to read one or two of them yourself. But....how do
you get it all done? (And quite frankly, I may be the only one on the planet that
wasn't all that taken with the Twilight series. My aide loved them.....I thought
they were ok.) So that is why I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
It was good to hear from all of you. Thank you so much for your help.
