Here is what I received from the listserv about how to distort a photo:

This can be done easily in Photoshop.

If you have a MAC computer there is an option to do all sorts of image
manipulations with the built in camera. \

Fotoflexer  or picnik  both have some nice editing tools

Have a look at the "Amazing Goo" and "Alien vision" effects on Dumpr:
http://www.dumpr.net/  There's no registration for this free site.
Photoshop Express also has a "distort" option.  It's free, but you
must register for this site, which has some pretty powerful tools.
