What are the teacher's objectives? Is s/he trying to find an African American 
novel? Boxing? Male? I believe that is the issue here.

There are certainly tons of reviews for the book. I have book talked it for years.

What is the forthcoming objection?

We hear some noise that a parent is going to object to this book being read
 in her 6th grader's class.  I myself am unfamiliar with the book.  Does
