My fifth grade teachers are looking for a novel study in the genre of historical
fiction. They would like it to tie with their history learning objectives (SOL's
if you are a Virginian). They learn about American history from the Revolutionary
War, Civil War, Reconstruction and government.
Again, any successful suggestions are appreciated. I have recommended Elijah of
Buxton, by Christopher Paul Curtis. The fourth grade already reads Blood on the
River by Carbone.
Thanks!
