[LM_NET] Bookmarks

I have seen several inquires about bookmarks.  I have created  
magnetic bookmarks on several occasions. These bookmarks are folded  
in half and small strips of self adhesive magnet are added to each  
end.  I cut up business card magnet stock, it's quite thin.  Using  
your favorite desktop publishing program, set the page to landscape  
and divide it into equal columns.  Text boxes or images can be  
added.  You'll want to determine your halfway point and flip the  
images and text on one side of that mark so they will be right side  
up when the bookmark is folded.  I've had students create drawings in  
Pixie2, exported the images as jpgs and made them as Father's Day  
gifts, I've added a picture of the school with contact information  
for hand outs to new parents, and placed pictures of our guest  
readers on them with a quote about reading as a thank you for  
participating in the annual celebration of reading.  I have a  
template I created for PrintShop I can send on request.   Additional
