- Thread-Topic: student teacher/intern borrowing ( and retrieving overdues)
I issue borrowing privileges to student teachers, social work interns, subs, etc.
by creating a record for them when they want to borrow. I've had too many cases in
the past where a student teacher borrows items for the classroom teacher, or for a
unit , using the teachers record, and the teacher has no idea where the books are.
Eventually the books show up, but sometimes not. (
We started using Destiny in September 2007, and it is so easy to create borrower
records on the fly. I created several records for various student teachers ,
interns, etc. this year. I included the homeroom of the student teacher, and the
fact they were a student teacher, but no other info. Now I have 3 items out, by 2
different student teacher/interns, and no way to retrieve the items. someone from
my HR department was able to provide me with an email address for one, but has no
record of the other. I think for September, I am going to ask them to give me a
full permanent street address/phone number, the colleges name, etc. So in the event
I need to track them down, I can.
Do you think I'm being over the top?
thanks!
