[LM_NET] choosing kids to see an author

Hellok
I have space to take 6 kids with me to a neighboring town to see an author. What's 
an effective way to choose these kids?  In the past I've done trivia contests, 
essays and interviews.  There are pros / cons to each method.   What have you done 
in such situations and how did you like the results?
