I would like to hear from anyone that is happy with the filtering
software they are using. We are looking for something that allows
restrictions but can be tweaked to permit specific sites to be accessed
when instructionally necessary.
Is there such a thing?
We are having problems with Barracuda and our technology people are
considering a change. We also have major bandwidth issues which will be
addressed over this summer.
Some of the difficulty arises, for example, from limiting shopping and
entertainment sites but trying to still allow access to specific URLs
that need to be used in classroom. Teachers and tech people are both
very frustrated with these issues.
How do you handle this? Is your software more proficient in this
regard?

I will be forwarding replies to our district tech director for his
information.

Thanks very much, as always.
