Here is an exciting opportunity for those of you interested in earning your MLS.
St. John’s University in Queens, NY is funding 20 students (free tuition, use of
laptop, and much more) through a grant with the Institute of Museum and Library
Services (IMLS). The link for the graduate school application is
http://www.stjohns.edu/admission/graduate/ . If this link does not work, on the
home page of St. John's University ( http://www.stjohns.edu/ ) in the upper right
corner, there is an “apply now” link. The online scholarship application is
at http://www.stjohns.edu/libraryscience/imls. It should be filled out after the
graduate application has been submitted; it is an online application only. In
order to have guaranteed review and consideration for Summer 2008 both applications
would have needed to arrive and be submitted by March 15th – this includes
references and transcripts. Please be sure to send transcripts and references to
the Office of Graduate Admissions. Applications not in by the deadline will still
be reviewed if the 30 interview slots are not filled by those submitting by the
March 15th. If you have additional information, please contact creels@stjohns.edu
. Be sure to put your name and IMLS in the subject line and tell her if you have
already applied.
(Please do not send your transcripts to me, but to the above address. I'm on the
committee and volunteered to post this message.)
