This is a place that I absolutely adore. I've driven through it several times and
most recently met my sister there who was coming back from a skiing trip in New
Hampshire. The place looks like it is out of a Norman Rockwell painting, with one
notable exception. When you coming in from the west side of town on Route 9, there
is a huge structure, perhaps a hotel of spa from the turn of the century, that
looks more like a good setting for a horror film. It is very dilapidated and
unkempt. Can anyone tell me the story behind this structure?

the Chicago Public Library, I’m a writer now.”
