[LM_NET] Tar: painting on glass, what paints are removable?

The art department and I are collaborating on painting some pictures on
some glass panels we have in the library.
 
These need to be removable but at the same time not come off if you
brush against them.
 
Have any of  you done this?  What paint did you use?  I am based in the
UK, so general types of paint rather than specific brands please. I
don't need it to be translucent. 
 
The art teacher is suggesting plain acrylic paint.  Have any of you used
this?  Did it come off afterwards?
 
If I get any answers, I will post to the list.
