Maternity Leave LIBRARY POSITIONMaternity Leave opening for a full-time Grade 5-12 
Librarian for the Spring semester beginning in March 2008.We are looking for 
someone who is energetic, creative, and enjoys working with Middle and High School 
students. Berkeley Carroll, in beautiful Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, is a 
Nursery-12th Grade School.This is an active and supportive environment. MLS in

completed (MLS) or in progress   Knowledge of  Children and Young Adult 
Literature   Teaching Experience   Demonstrate ability to engage children in group 
setting   Demonstrated ability and temperament to work with young adults   
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other teachers   Ability to 
generate ideas for library activities to promote reading    Proficient at using 
electronic media, equipment and resources RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:  Teach 
information literacy skills through research projects  Collaborate with teachers on 
special research projects, especially in Middle School   Alert teachers to 
materials available to support curriculum   Assist with teachers' request for 
materials to support curriculum  Assist in providing reference services  Assist by 
creating appropriate displays and planning activities to promote reading  Assist in 
preparing bibliographies for Middle School  Manage and maintain circulation of all 
materials, including AV Equipment  Assist in maintaining periodical collection  
Assist in maintaining collection –  weeding and selection  Work closely with
