[LM_NET] Gen: Student's ripping sections out of books

I'm trying really hard to keep my blood pressure under control, but we've had 
another episode of a reference book that has a section ripped out.  We have this 
happen at least once every year when the senior English classes are doing their 
research on careers.  We have built up a great career section with individual 
titles that  cover single careers and multi-volume encyclopedias of various 
careers, and it makes my blood boil when this happens.  We've yet to catch a 
student doing it, but one day the section is there, and the next it's not.  

Does anyone else have this problem?  It's not as if the students aren't given 
enough library time.  The teachers schedule 10 days for the project, and we have a 
copier students can use.  The sections aren't even that long, 3-5 pages.  I just 
don't get it--how can a student ruin a book for everyone else?

Thanks for letting me vent.  Any suggestions or success stories on stopping this?
