A student heard a piece in forensics (part of a farrago presentation)
that she referred to as "A poor woman's lament for her children". She
thought it was a story/narrative, perhaps set in the early 1900's, and
dealt with the woman's feelings about being poor and how it affected her
children. It was a serious/dramatic piece. Does this sound familiar to
anyone? It is not the lyrics by Eric Clapton or Cream. I have found
the Mill Mother's Lament by Ella Mae Wiggins, but we think she is
remembering something much longer and not a poem. Anyone have any
inspired ideas?
