This is a good thread.
Currently I have a Kinetic Sculpture which fascinates the kids.
I have a WishBone plush that talks. I keep copies of recent Unshelved comics
on one counter.
I also have a plush lion (school mascot) and a reading bear.
At Easter I always put out a kaleidoscope that I bought at a garage sale for
25 cents. The kids love it.
Another popular item is a village of limoge type boxes for Halloween and one
for Easter. The kids love to open each one to see what's inside.
I sometimes print off interesting articles for them to read such as the sale
of J.K. Rowling's hand made book for $4mil.
