[LM_NET] Target: Book Passages with Hooks / Cliffhangers

Hello LM_Netters, 

 

I am at Junior High (grades 7-9) that is in the beginning stages of starting
up a Silent Sustained Reading program.  My principal would like to read book
passages in our morning announcements that hook get our students reading.
So, I am hoping that you can help me come up with a quick list of books with
cliffhanger passages that will intrigue our students.  They could be great
1st pages or other passages in the book as well.
