I have found just the opposite to be true. I always stick with something such as a
generic database - such as EBSCOhost or Proquest which will cover all disciplines.
Also web evaluation pertains to every class so i can't imagine anyone being bored.
But then, I believe it is bigger than library as databases and the web effect all
classrooms in all disciplines.

I just make sure my examples cover several arears in the searching process.

in-service

Hello everyone,

I am struggling with this project, and I just know someone out there has
a great idea, so I'm appealing to the librarian community for help. My
principal would like me to give a short (40-60 minutes) presentation
about "something" at our next in-service on Nov. 9th. He wants it to
apply to social studies, science AND special teachers, and from our
conversations I gathered that he is really only concerned that my
presentation is "not boring." I am drawing a huge blank, because this
is great opportunity to get these teachers "on board" with the library
program, but there is so much I could cover that I can't seem to settle
on something. Also, I am afraid to do something I would consider "not
boring" because I know subject matter such as "databases 101" or "web
evaluation" really don't float anyone's boat but the librarian's.

What would YOU cover if you were given such an opportunity? Has anyone
done something "fun" like this with great success? If you have any
ideas/suggestions/advice for this situation, I would love to hear them!
