The following are hits I received about Daisy the Pig and Farmer Minor
reading program. I apologize for the delay. Since my original post, I have
scheduled the program for my school and from what I have learned it is
highly recommended. My students are so excited about Daisy coming to visit,
I have already seen an increase with their reading interest.

Michelle,
We love having Farmer Minor and Daisy. He arrives well before hand with
Daisy in a stroller, lots of books that are part of Daisy's library (Of
course they are all about pigs!) and various large picture frames with
newspaper articles and pictures including one from the White House that he
will set up. He also brings his own chair. Daisy is a well traveled pig and
very well behaved. She stays in the stroller the whole time. We have him
present to the morning and afternoon Kindergarten and in between he will
take her outside for execise etc...
Farmer Minor tells all about how he and Mrs. Minor came to be the parents
to Daisy. She really does sleep with them! Wait until you see her and hear
all about her. Farmer Minor has a pig stamp that he can stamp the children's
hands with and yes someone usually an adult (so be prepared) gets to kiss
Daisy. He is excellent with the children.
We received a packet from him with papers that could be copied for the
children to color and other materials as well.
We've already booked him for March!
If you have any other questions let me know.
Pat

We had Daisy and Farmer (sorry, can't remember his last name) come and they
were wonderful! We used the theme of "come see the principal kiss a pig" as
a reading incentive with Accelerated Reader. It was great fun and
reasonably priced for an assembly.

Originial Post:
I am currently a LMS student and was wondering if you have ever used Daisy
The Pig as part of your reading promotion program? If so, please tell me
about your experience including any activities or ideas you may have
incorporated into your promotion that were successful. I will post HITS
received.
Thank you,
