Looking for advice...
We're in the second year of using InfoCentre.
We're part of a five school district, all using InfoCentre from one central server.
The techies in the district run the server.
I have a shortcut on my desktop for Quick Search, the online catalog. It searches
just my collection. But things are missing.
If I do a keyword or subject search for "Halloween" I get 16 titles. But I have at
least three shelves of Halloween books.
"Frog and Toad" reveals non-fiction titles. None by Arnold Lobel.
"Lobel" turns up some of his titles, but none of the Frog and Toad series.
Now the district librarians have been invited to a meeting to see Destiny. More
money, more stuff to learn. We don't really know InfoCentre yet, and the quick
search feature doesn't work.
I've brought this up with the tech guys. They say the company keeps saying it will
be fixed in the next patch, but it never does. They are now telling us the only way
to fix it is to upgrade to the newer version.
Shouldn't InfoCentre work without spending more money? Have you had similar
problems?
