Well said. It is like blaming the paper and pen because
a teacher only uses work sheets. AR is a reading management
program; a computerized assessment tool.
It will not get students excited about reading anymore than a
reading chart with stars. However, good reading teachers
have always used some kind of reading management program.
Reading practice is essential and librarians need to find ways
of working with teachers who use textbooks, worksheets, reading
charts, and AR.
