[LM_NET] HIT: Classroom blogs and wikis

I posted a request several weeks ago for examples of classroom blogs and wikis that 
I could use in a workshop. I'm happy to report the workshop went well, and my 
principal, who attended and really got into blogging, now wants me to do a 
presentation for the entire staff at our upcoming professional development day. 
Better late than never, here is a hit:

  My husband teaches high school in Orange County, CA.  He teaches film studies and 
started a wiki this year which his students contribute to (three periods, around 90 
students total).

  In one of our first attempts, my last year's 7th grade students used pbwiki to 
create a web presence for their environmental studies project.  It is not anything 
unique, but I felt they did a nice job considering that it was totally 
student-generated, and that it was their first effort.  It can be found at 
ergc.pbwiki.com, then go to the class of 2008 home page, and check the archives.

  I've collaborated with social studies teacher creating a wiki that students added 
information to and a reading teacher with a blog about books the students read. I 
used pbwiki and gaggle blog.  This was with 5th and 6th grade.

  I am currently fighting with our tech director over blogs and wiki's.
  He says he does not want to allow them since we have Moodle.  Can you
please share your ideas so that I can present him and the administration
with other schools who are not only using blogs and wiki's but are
