HIT: must have elem. Magazines
These are not in any order. You can tell by the number of repeats which
ones were the post popular. Thank you all so very much!
Dianna

Sports Illustrated for kids or BMX Plus for boys and American Girl or
Discovery Girls for the girls.
My kids like Sports Illustrated for Kids, even some of the girls. My girls
like American Girl.
I would suggest Cricket Magazine. It has wonderful stories and
illustrations and no ads.
Nick
Girls Discover
Sports Illus. for Kids
Disney Adventures
Zoobooks
American Girl
Kids Discover
I also get some free magazines from the Game Commision and Fishing and
Boating Commission in our state.
My most read magazines are Sports Illustrated for Kids, American Girl
and ZooBooks.
Ranger Rick, Sports Illus. for Kids, Girls Life, Boys Life, Nat.
Geographic World
Nickelodeon magazine was everybody's favorite when I was in elementary. It's
punchy, visually stimulating, and features celebrities that are familiar to,
and of interest to, kids. Plus there's the yearly 3-D issue with glasses,
which is the coolest thing ever. Big Backyard is good, and the kids'
versions of Sports Illustrated, National Geographic and Discover are also
excellent. We had subscriptions to Spider, Cricket, Turtle, etc., and nobody
really read them.
Absolutely these two if I had a small budget: Zoobooks and Kids' Discover.
Scholastic Storyworks, as well as the other Scholastic magazines.
Sports Illustrated for Kids is by far our most popular magazine, such that
we have two subscriptions and there are almost never any back copies
available since they are all checked out and normally have to be tossed
after about 6 months because they have fallen apart. For girls it is
American Girl magazine, but really nothing comes close to SI for Kids.
MotoKids Great for boys that like dirt bikes etc. http://www.moto-kids.com/
I took another look at Boys Life and liked what I saw, it is not as old
style as it once was, but it may have a higher reading level than you want.
Always a favorite, Sports Illustrated for Kids
Dogs for Kids
Discovery Girls about friendships etc. well done, much more update but
none of the Cosmo Girl etc. influences that I was trying to stay away from.
Zoobooks
Kids Discover
Older kids: Sports Illustrated for Kids
