I have refrained from weighing in to any of the discussions of Pullman's book and
movie because, until now, I didn't feel strongly enough about it offer up an
opinion. Then, last night, I saw the movie ad. The commercial said, "In the
tradition of The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA..."
(capitalization mine). How dare they! After Pullman has repeatedly trashed Mr.
Lewis and his writing, how much hubris does it take to turn around and use Narnia
to tout his movie!
