Since many of you may be new users of Open Office, like we are, I
thought I'd respond to the group on this one. Impress is pretty darn
good at opening most Powerpoint presentations. Things get uglier when
there are embedded links, effects, sounds, video, or in my English
teacher's instance an "Active X" component that allowed you to type in
ongoing scores during the slide show. Impress choked on that one.
I am experimenting with the PPT templates that I am finding and
gracious LM_NETters are sending to me to see if I can eventually
duplicate the complexity that Marilyn had in her PPT game. I'll let you
all know if I succeed.

I am a new Open Office user. I hadn't even tried Impress until I read
your LM_NET email. I opened Impress and then opened a Microsoft Power
Point I had saved on my computer and it worked fine.
Maybe you can use the game templates for PPT as well.
