[LM_NET] OFF TOPIC: tech help ? Ricoh manual 35 mm camera problem

Hi,
   
  My daughter was just given a used (probably about 20 years old) Ricoh KR-30 (35 
mm manual) camera.  It is in great shape.  When trying to load the film, we can't 
get the shutter to depress/shoot.  Any suggestions ?  She needs to get this up and 
running for a college class.

  P.S.  We've installed new batteries and the light meter is working fine, so I'm 
not sure what else to check.  There's no trouble-shooting section in the manual.  
Hence this request to our always helpful listserv !
