Our district has decided to put John Christopher's prequel, When the Tripods
Came, on our Battle of the Books list for next year. I'm probably breaking a TON
of rules by announcing this to the whole world, but my question is important!
Some of you might recall, there was an email from an LM_NET participant
concerning the author's revisions of the four texts for the 35th anniversary
republication. The organizer of our Battle of the Books program doesn't seem to
feel that these revisions will warrant notification to the staff/librarians or need
change in the questions. I find that difficult to believe, but I thought I'd ask
those who have read the new versions.
Has anyone read the NEW version of When the Tripods Came and knows the OLD
version? Can anyone inform me if using the original AND updated text will be a
serious issue for our Battle program? How different or confusing could this be?

On the down-low,

Josh Mika
