The following ONLINE coursework is offered this summer through Minnesota State
University, Mankato. The courses can be taken for staff development purposes or
toward Library Media Licensure and/or a Masters degree in Library Media Education.
KPS 634 - Instructional Design and Production Resources
This course covers the design and production of multimedia materials, their
evolution and their integration throughout the curriculum. Proper instructional
design techniques will be examined.
KSP 622 - Materials for Children
This course examines the process for the evaluation and selection of fiction,
non-fiction and electronic materials for children in grades K-6.
KSP 617 - Foundations of Information Centers in Society
The course compares and contrasts the social, cultural, and educational role of
public, academic, school and special libraries in society.
KSP 631 - Organization/Leadership/Management of the Media Center
The course covers the mission, goals and policies surrounding effective school
library media program administration. Students explore the current standards and
assessments surrounding the administration of the of school library program
KSP 629 - Communicating Electronically with the Learning Community
This course explores how current applications and multiple approaches that can be
used to develop and support communication with parents, students, and the community.
