[LM_NET] Book Binding and Help

This is my first year in a high school library that has been active for 
approximately twenty years.  I have several books that are falling apart, 
some that...according to records...aren't that old.  But, I cannot tell from 
what company the books came.  Is there a way to tell that I don't know 
about?  I just can't believe the number of books that I need to replace 
due to wear and tear.  Is this my reality check?
