[LM_NET] need elementary lesson help FAST!

Hello Netters,
In about one week, I will be heading into an elementary library job
(currently, I'm teaching 6th grade and before that I was a high school
media specialist). So....I'm in desperate need for ideas/suggestions
for lessons/projects for K-5 grades.  I will have the students in the
library for a 45 minute time period (15 min of which will be
check-out). That leaves time for a 30 minute lesson.
I've got some ideas to do some author studies (any suggestions for
authors??). And, of course, I'm going to talk with teachers to see how
I can support what they're doing in the classroom. But I don't want to
go into this position "blind." I'd like to have an arsonal of lessons
that I could use if and when need be.
I'm most concerned about grades K-3. 4th and 5th grade is pretty close
to 6th..so I think I'll be all right with them.
OK...sorry this is so long...bottom line: please send me any
ideas/suggestions for lessons or projects for grades K-5.
