Good morning,
I guess I have to expose my ignorance here, but I need to know something and you
are the quickest responders.
I have (had, as of this morning) a message board on my website for the kids to
talk about the books they are reading. It didn't get a ton of use, but it was
fairly new and during battle of the books it was used more. I anticipated more use
again this summer.
Anyway, I began getting occasional, spamlike postings. (Thank goodness I had it
set up so I had to approve each message before the kids could see it) Lately, the
messages have increased to more than one a day and my district is getting profanity
reports about my webpage!
The forum is now gone.
What I don't understand is how this happened. I mean, I thought that someone would
actually have to be looking at my page in order to post a message. Can someone
enlighten me as to how this REALLY works? Is there a way to set this up that will
avoid the spam problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Molly
