We are just getting our feet wet with a school-wide competition called
Battle of the books. I have done some research on the Internet but don't
want to get as involved with this, our first, go round. We have picked 10
novels for the 4-5 and 20 picture books for the k-2. Third graders get to
choose which division they want to battle in--Jurnior or Senior. We will be
having our preliminary round within the confines of our Library Option class
rotation. The winning class team will move on to the grade-level
competition the following week. Our final Battle will be on March 2. It
will have a Junior and Senior division of one class per grade level i.e. 1-3
and 3-5. That is about as far as I have gotten. I have a book from which
we chose the books. It has some questions but after the first round, won't
the kids have heard all of the questions. Am wondering if anyone has done
this on a simple level. If so, what suggestions do you have. Where can I
get additional questions for the novels and picture books we have chosen?
Help!
