[LM_NET] TECH: Using TV as monitor

Good morning,
One of our teachers has run into a problem that we can't seem to solve.
He has a cable to connect his laptop to his tv - as he describes it, an
S-video end and an RCA type end.  He can get the tv to display what's on
his laptop screen, but once he begins to show a powerpoint, the TV will
not advance beyond the first slide.  It's as though the tv monitor will
not refresh.  Ideas?
