Here is the hit

We use Type to Learn Jr.

 

We use Sticky Bear by Borderbrund, it's adequate.  The kids like it, but as a 
teacher it's a tad boring!

 

We do not use software in our computer lab, and we teach keyboarding skills with 
Internet sites.  Our kids especially love Dance Mat Typing at the BBC - 
(www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing)

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing might be what you need.

 

There's a great little program called "Read, Write and Type"
(www.readwritetype.com) that is more expensive becuase it is far more
sophisticated, but can really help to boost reading skills while
teaching keyboarding. WHen I surveyed parents of LD kiddos as to "what
computer stuff did you like" this was number one.

 

Our K-1 students use "Type to Learn".  I think it moves to slow, but it 
might be our computer lab asst. that teaches the class.  I have noticed a 
big drop in Computer skills since the new person took over 2 years ago.
