Dear Micki and Everyone,
I am thrilled that Fred Stays With Me made it to your honors for your Mock Newbery. 
It is a book that has been under the radar . This is one of my favorite picture 
books this year. The sepia watercolors that contrast with the protagonist's 
optimistic outlook and her pragmatic voice create a seamless read-aloud.  I am 
going to read it aloud to our 5/6s right now!. Lisa
