I'm experiencing an overlap of IT/AV/LMC, and it's confusing for teachers.
We don't have stationary projection equipment, so if someone needs an
Elmo or LCD, they see me. If they need a laptop, too, they have to get that from
IT. If they need to have this presentation in the auditorium with sound, or
microphones, they see maintenance or the music department.
I can loan out a digital camera, but I can't help the user download it to a
computer (only VHS!!). I can't download a DVD or CD-rom for preview without my
IT person. There are lots of other examples.
Luckily, we all cooperate pretty well to make it work for teachers. These old
job divisions are just making things fragmented and inefficient.
