Hello,
Please forgive this posting to the entire list, but my facebook photo at the moment
might be of interest. It includes a photo taken at AASL of our guru Mike Eisenberg
in uniform ;-)

I do not go trawling for young friends on facebook. In one year, though, I have
been "found" by 80+ former students. Sometimes, the contact brings nothing more. In
another case, it included a few e-mail messages and last summer brought my wife,
son and I into Manhattan for dinner with a former student from our Saudi Arabia
days nearly 15 years ago.
Personal rant: In many schools we are banning access to social networks instead of
educating our students on the proper etiquette therein. This saddens me. We are
missing a teachable moment and confirming our students' opinions that educators are
hopelessly out of it.
Social networks can be anti-social environments. No argument. But if we won’t
teach, or at least discuss, proper behavior there, who will?
Best wishes for a happy holiday season...and hoping to see you on Facebook :-)

Dear LM_Netters,
I wonder if anyone of us in facebook / use facebook a lot that we can
create a group of lm_net.
we may then share photos of libraries, free use images around
i do not know whether this is a good idea
i know that facebook is a very loose community and far less serious then our
listserv
