My original post:

"The Reading teachers in my school are having a Family Literacy night and the
combined theme will be reading/writing and wellness/health. To help them out, I am
looking for suggestions for a catchy slogan. Right now I am at a loss as how to
combine the 2 concepts into one slogan."

Thank you to all that responded! You guys are great and I got so many responses so
quickly! The Reading teachers were very impressed!

*******************************************************************************************

Reading: It does a body good!

"Don't just sit there! Read!!!" and when you're not reading....don't just sit!!!!

"Read for your health!" (books on...healthy cookbooks, magazines, exercise,
routines)

"Expand your mind, not your waist."

"A well read person is a well person...." (information on the high risk
lifestyles....obesity, diet, smoking, etc)

Two quick ideas...Have you seen the new poster in ALA graphics about the "brain
food" pyramid?
http://www.alastore.ala.org/SiteSolution.taf?_sn=catalog&_pn=product_detail&_op=2421

I just noticed it in the catalog the other day and it looks like a great idea.
Maybe you could tie that in somehow---food and brain food? One year when I was in
elementary school I did a lot with the PE teacher and Jump Rope for Heart with the
Anna Banana book of jump rope rhymes.

How about something like "reading is fitness for the mind"

How about: Write yourself a healthy prescription: READ! READ! READ!

In doing a quick Google search for --healthy mind, I got:
Healthy Mind for a Healthy Body

I recently ordered a poster set from Upstart showing food. Each poster states
"Read" in jelly, ketchup, mayo, etc. I also ordered a reading pryamid based on the
food pyramid from ALA that has the slogan "Feed Your Mind." Maybe that slogan will
work . . . just an idea.

How about "Exercise your body...Exercise your brain" ?

How about something like "improve your body language" ?

How about - - "Reading is exercise for the brain (mind)!"

Read 'em and Reap (benefits of reading and healthy life style)
Bookin' to the Beat ( excercise while listenign to audiobooks)

Read About It, Write About It, then Do It
