I am doing a workshop on the theme of Information Ethics, Rights and
Responsibilities for my local BOCES. I cover a diversity of topics
including academic dishonesty, cyberbullying, computer hacking, ID
theft, Internet addiction, online gambling, social networking sites,
spam, weblogs, etc. There is money available to provide a book on the
subject for each participant and for each interested school in our
BOCES. I have 28 topics that I could potentially cover with one of the
recurring themes being the "unintended consequences" of technological
change. There isn't any one book that covers this much territory. The
three that would seem to do it the best are these:

Computer Ethics by Deborah Johnson
Learning Right From Wrong in the Digital Age by Doug Johnson
Computer Ethics, Etiquette and Safety for the 21st Century Student by
Nancy Willard

I know that two of these authors on the list. I would like some
advice as to which one fits my topic the best or if another title would
do a better job.

Some other books that I have found that are useful in this
regard are the following:

21st Century Debates [The Impact on Our Lives] Series by Raintree
Steck-Vaughn Publishers:
The Internet by Ian Graham
Surveillance by Scarlett MccGwire

The Need to Know Library [Series by the Rosen Publishing Group]
The Dangers of Computer Hacking by John Knittel and Michael Soto
Misinformation on the Internet by Christopher D. Goranson

Ed Nizalowski, SMS
Newark Valley High School
Newark Valley, NY

Walt Morey (1907-1992), author of Gentle Ben, overcame functional
illiteracy at age thirteen when he finally took up reading with a
passion. The plots for most of his 17 published books revolve around
the relationship between man and animals often using the themes of
survival, self-discovery or redemption through nature.
