This has been the topic of much discussion.
If we are correct that a student can use 30 sec. of 3 min. song in a multimedia
presentation for a class and
that song can be off a CD (used with the PPT) or a legal mp3 file, trimmed...
Can a teacher give his students access to his mp3 collection for the students to
use for class projects?
I would think these instances would not be permissible since a copy is being made--
the file is not "shared".
The teacher argues fair use...
Any help would be appreciated.
