To any of you out there who are in a school using the Core Knowledge
Sequence by E.D. Hirsch, I have started a wiki space specifically for the
library media specialists who are sort of overlooked in the 'sequence'
I envision the space as being a place where we can build a sort of online
encyclopedia of tips about using the Core Knowledge Curriculum in the
Media Center. For example, one thing that my principal requires is that
all teachers turn in a year long plan. I asked for a copy of that plan
and know I can plan my units around things that their year long plans say
they will be doing at certain times of the year.
As a newbie librarian who is also new to Core Knowledge, I know there are
other 'tips and tricks' out there, so I'd love for anyone who would like
to check out the space and maybe join us to add their expertise, drop me
an e-mail off-list and I will 'invite' you to the wiki as an editing
member.
There isn't much there yet, but you can check it out at
http://coreknowledgelibrarians.wikispaces.com/
