[LM_NET] OT: Home computer security

Hi, my dear librarian friend techies,

How much and what kind of security do I need on my home computer?  We will be 
downloading our back account to quicken and sometimes do investment trading, amazon 
purchasing, orbitiz purchasing, etc. online.

My Norton expired two days ago and I have not yet renewed it.  My daughter, a 
computer junkie, always has a fit when she visits and uses my computer.  She thinks 
Norton has tied my computer up in knots, preventing me from doing things that 
really are okay to do.

Are there better programs?  Different levels of security?  Any other issues I 
should be concerned with?
