[LM_NET] SEC: African-American historical mystery fiction?

Dear LM_NETters,

I have a young man, a junior, who is African-Amer. & looking for A-A historical 
mystery fiction.  
I gave him Beloved and a book about a local legend, Black Hope Horror, and asked 
him to check back with me after I've had a chance to consult the experts.  Any 
ideas?
