Betsy and all,
I would agree. We have now been running InfoCentre for a couple of
years, and with most of the bugs removed, we find it to be a reliable
program. It has some truly great features, such as the ZMarc and the record
merge. I am annoyed that Follett, which has bought out InfoCentre, now
seems to be pushing all its owners into Alexandria. If I had wanted
Alexandria, I would have bought it in the first place. Since the purchase,
I have had at least three phone calls from Follett asking me if I want to
switch, and now just got a card offering me a 50% discount to switch over.
Growl!

Just a note on the other side of the coin, so to speak. We've had
InfoCentre for a couple of years now. We had a rough patch in the version
2.1 to 2.2 switch, but things are going great now with 2.2 and now 2.3. We
like it and like the features this has that Athena charged extra for. This
includes Zmarc, Patron Porter, networker server based, and web-base option
for search module/catalog.
Some folks may mention tech support, but we've gotten fairly good service
once the parent company switch got settled.
We like IC and are planning to stick with it for now. For comparison, we
currently have 9 school databases running off one (robust) Novell server.
