[LM_NET] TARGET: High School Book Club Mystery Selection

Having just started my first year as a high school
media specialist, I am anxious to get our student book
club functioning.  A book for this month's discussion
was chosen by last year's group.  The teens met
briefly today during activity period and told me that
they would like to read a mystery, horror or suspense
novel for October, in keeping with the Halloween
season.

Do you have suggestions for newer titles?  These
students are such avid readers that most of them have
already read the more obvious choices that were
discussed.

I guess that "new" is kind of relative because the
book needs to be available in paperback.  Our students
can not afford to buy the books themselves and most
don't have easy access to our public library, either. 
The library purchases a set of the books for the
students to read so paperbacks are a must!
