I am continuing to tutor my teacher ed students in literacy, and the focus has now
turned to
writing, and once again I am seeking your help.
Their assessment task requires them to "review the debates over rival methods of
teaching writing"
and so I am asking you for links to these methods. I often read your references to
models such as
"6 traits + 1" (and I found this link to that
http://www.nwrel.org/assessment/about.php?odelay=1&d=1) but what other models are
in current use?
It's been a while since I was actually in the classroom teaching writing and so
much will have
evolved since Process writing and the Conference Approach.
I did find this article Writing Instruction: Changing Views over the Years. ERIC
Digest D155.
http://www.ericdigests.org/2001-3/views.htm and I am following some leads from
that but anything
you could offer to help these teachers of the future would be appreciated.
